We had roast pork for dinner with some peas and many of the veg you see above and ohhhh my do you taste the difference I still get excited that the food we grow on our allotment  actually tastes of what it is rather than the bland boring veg you can get from supermarkets.

We have already made 5/6 jars of Red currant Jam which Ethan has on toast for his breakfast its lovely. just used the age old pound of sugar to a pound of fruit recipe. I’m thinking of trying some Rhubarb Jam keep looking up different recipes and Rhubarb and ginger and Rhubarb and Vanilla seem to appeal to me.

I tried to plat the garlic and that was a bad idea i really cant plat lol ……..

neither can Gemma so think i will just hang them.

well just a quick update for now

Cya soon … i hope ….

Well more rain tonight its hammering down i did manage to get some more salad leaves planted couple of trays of ice berg lettuce and little gem lettuce and a couple of rows of Rocket and Mixed leaves seeing as though the mixed leaves ant done much in the boxes so far. you will have noticed that i said i planted the Lettuce in trays. Not Gemmas technique of throwing the complete seed pack in a drilll I planted 2/3 seeds in to seed trays and i will just prick out the ones that aren’t that strong and keep the best ones.

Hoping to get lots done this weekend weather permitting plenty of planting out ….. we will see eh

12TH APRIL

Wow the difference a few weeks make, i need to get some snaps but there has been some huge changes and growth. everything has “sprung into action I’m going to take some pics tomorrow and post them for all to see

26th April

Well, Amelia Holly Made her appearance on the 14th April so used to the sleepless nights and constant feeling of being tiered. the allotment has took a back heel i have been down this week and watered and weeded a little with the warm spurt we had it was a big invite to the weeds to take over my onion and Garlic bed so almost finished clearing that,

almost finished digging …. almost so im planning to get the rotorvator back down next week,

i have got some peas in which have all started to come through nicely and some parsnips which arnt doing alot at the minute. we got a few Broccoli and  and cabbage planted out but i have loads i need to pot on (this weekends job) im not goin to get there much this weekend either as im working ……..

Good news the tateys are growing well i have leaves at least i know i started them in manure due to lack of soil but we can hope they will grow cant we ……..

All the trees are blossoming nicely now so hopefully lots of fruit for us this year after the pruning we did in the winter.

I will try and get some pics and let you cast your opinions.

Well…Still no sign of the new addition to the family, Really frustrated well at least Gemma is 🙂 bless her.

We got lots planted up today as it may be the last time for a while we get time down the lotty but like I said if I can I will squeeze the time in, I’ve already offered to take the Kids down there when baby comes to Give Gemma  time with Ameila, see… how thoughtful am I…..

We got purple spouting broccoli, Broccoli, Sweetcorn, Toms of all varieties colours and sizes  some cool looking tiger ones which I cant wait to try, we got some peas in the ground and one of the old boys gave me tip to sprinkle a bit of lime on top as the Mice don’t like it so what the hell why not i gave it ago.

Lily helped plant some lettuce, Spring onions and Radish in boxes

We took the Rotavator this weekend and got it all tilled it looks really good could do with a little more work but it’s looking good compared to what it did look like, really could do with some well rotted manure but unfortunately we haven’t got any rotten manure so i do have Fish blood and bone and Chicken Pellets we’re going to use
